McCain did exactly what he had to do tonight.
He highlighted Obama's inexperience.
He elaborated on the issues with Obama's questionable associations.
He demonstrated that, indeed, Obama is a liar.
He explained that Obama's tax and spend policies are disastrous.
He spoke of his own record of bipartisanship.
He demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the economy.
He distanced himself from Bush.
He explained that taxes at this time is not the right thing to do.
And he was correct.
But it doesn't matter one bit.
The electorate is energized for 'change'. They don't care that McCain is better at this time. That only care that Obama isn't a Republican.
Obama has charisma, a certain calm and a very full bag of catch-phrases and buzzwords.
That's all American thinks it needs at this time.
They're wrong, of course, but come election day it just won't matter.
Obama will win. And America, for at least two years, will lose.
Congratulation America, you've cut off your nose to spite your face.

It's about time, Senator McCain
Finally, McCain is taking off the gloves. He has finally began to hammer Obama on his questionable ties to several less than savory characters.
Ayers: An avowed 'revolutionary' who has publicly stated that he has no regrets about bombing various government buildings. Obama maintains that he never knew Ayers' history. (What are they teaching at Harvard Law these days?)
Rezko: Chicago businessman and Obama friend who is currently awaiting sentencing is a multimillion dollar political kickback scheme. Of his sweetheart deal featuring a purchase from Rezko at lower than market prices Obama says simply "It was a mistake".
Wright: Obama's former 'spiritual advisor' who's hate laced tirades have become the stuff of legends. Obama maintains the ludicrous fable that in twenty years of church attendance and countless family gatherings, he had never heard Wright's racist rhetoric.
ACORN: Obama has stated in his 'Stop the smears' website that he has had no ties to this 'community organization' group now under investigation in at least 12 states for voter fraud. However, the facts are that he was indeed 'in bed' with ACORN as documented exceedingly well here.
During the primaries, Hillary Clinton turned to these facts far too late to turn the tide and win her party's nomination. Has McCain waited too long as well? The alternative media has carried this torch for a long while, and some like Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin still do. They are now expressing some relief to see McCain and Gov. Palin go on the attack, but are concerned about their reluctance to do it earlier in the campaign.
Currently, Obama enjoys a 5-9 point lead depending on whose polling you place your faith in. Not an insurmountable lead by any means, but a lead nonetheless.
And John McCain is running out of time.
The McCain/Palin campaign needs to ratchet up these attacks, don't give Obama a moment of respite. His associations, his errors in judgment and his ideas for so-called 'change' are dangerous for America. And the American people need to be exposed to these faults over and over again.
Senator McCain, don't be dissuaded from your course by an 'in the tank for' mainstream media who will call you racist, fear monger and mudslinger. Their agenda is now and has been from the outset to get Obama elected.
You have the information to paint Obama in the correct light, use it.
The time for 'playing nice' is over.

For the past few months I have heard many arguments that bolster the position that Obama isn’t fit to lead this great nation. His ideas to tax our way to prosperity while spending exorbitantly are truly terrifying. His has said that he would have face to face meetings with despots and dictators with no preset conditions. He has proven, time and again that he is a neophyte when it comes to foreign policy. He sings of ‘change’ and yet places the one of the most senior senators in the capitol on his ticket.
He first defended, then tossed aside, a hate mongering racist whom he had once declared was his “spiritual advisor”, then labeled his own grandmother as ”a typical white person’. He has had numerous dealing with the shady (and now incarcerated) Chicago businessman Tony Rezko as well as a relationship with William Ayers who he now claims not to have known about his bombings of several government buildings.
And now his longstanding affair with the much maligned ‘community organization’ ACORN has come to light, showing Obama to be benefiting from massive voter fraud in several states.
But here’s the epiphany…it doesn’t matter.
The stalwart following he has beguiled into believing he is the new “messiah” will have none of it. They refuse to even entertain the notion that Obama may indeed be the sum of his parts and that sum equates to a far left, say-anything politician with a socialist agenda. They are just too enamored to believe that he would lie or distort facts to win. To them, he’s true blue. A paragon of virtue. Clean of all faults and clear of all charges. They must be stupid.
Or are they?
Now, in the light of all the negatives Obama brings to the table, one must ask why? Why would so many become so enthralled with placing a person of questionable history, insignificant experience and dangerous ideals into the highest office in the land? Surely the lemmings who are following this man to the edge of the abyss must see the cliffs ahead? The loss of jobs brought on by massive tax hikes on American employers, the increases in an already burdening deficit, the further weakening of the dollar and the imminent neck deep recession? Surely they understand that having a junior senator dictate foreign policy is akin to having a six year old driving a tractor trailer? Surely they see the nationalization of our energy companies, the ubiquitous healthcare program and debilitating cuts in our military might well push us headlong into the pit of socialism?
Don’t they?
The truth is my friends, they do.
And they welcome it.
The left in this country, and perhaps some in the middle have long held the notion that ‘government knows best’. They feel that you don’t know what’s in your best interest, let alone your brother’s best interest, so they will have a government to tell you. And if you don’t agree; too bad, they’ll take what you’ve earned from you and do with it as they please. After all, you are your brother’s keeper.
They honestly believe that capitalism, upon which this country has grown and prospered for over two hundred years is evil. They believe that hard work and sacrifice makes you greedy and self absorbed. They believe that the fruits of your labors are not yours, but rather the states. After all, it takes a village.
For a very long time now, many of my more conservative friends have held this view. But I’d always thought it to be too cynical. I’ve always believed that everyone wants opportunity. That we all want the same opportunity. The opportunity to work hard, educate ourselves, and sacrifice for our future. The opportunity to be free of government shackles, to reach our full potential, to soar as high as our own self-determination would allow.
I see now that I was wrong. It is now clear that more than half of us would rather have equal mediocrity than equal opportunity.
In the old story of the ant and the grasshopper, the ant worked diligently each day, preparing for is future, whilst the grasshopper frittered about wasting time. In the original story, the grasshopper learned a valuable lesson about taking responsibility for your own future, and being ready for tomorrow. But not in the modern fable. Today the ant is working as hard as ever, but this time, the grasshopper has convinced him that he must be fair and share his hard earned bounty regardless of the grasshopper's lack of effort.
Foolish ant, it's the only fair thing to do.
